A update to my crash at the beginning of the month: I have a grade 2 separation of the right shoulder. What this means is that I’ll need quite a bit of PT to get the shoulder back into shape but no surgery. I’ve also been cleared to start riding again. This definitely puts some of my plans on hold but I should be in top form for the end of June and July.
On a lighter note, I’m getting all my x-rays on a CD.

Today I ate two bags of bagel chips, Just opened them up and started stuffing my face. Oh and they tasted so good. Normally this doesn’t happen but it seems I’ve come down with the South By Scurvy and when I’m sick the body wants carbs. It’s a good thing I didn’t order a pizza because I might have eaten the whole pie.

You better vote for the person that wants you to think and hope.
Bill Clinton
That’s why I voted for Barack Obama and think Hillary’s fear campaign is a step, a big step in the wrong direction.

The short of it is I crashed, again. At 200 meters to go a couple of rider went down in front of me and I had no where to go but over them. My front wheel slammed into the first rider’s back and I went over the handlebars, shoulder checking the other rider on the ground separating my right shoulder. I’ll be in a sling and off the bike for two weeks minimum. After that it’s some serious PT to get the shoulder back into shape. That or surgery, but lets not go there.
For the most part the race was uneventful for the first 3 and a half laps. On the back side that things started to get heated as people got ready for the final sprint. My teammate, Cooper, was forced to go off-road when a rider next to him couldn’t ride straight. I had a little argy-bargy with a Starbucks rider that couldn’t hold a line either. After that I moved to the front where it tends to be safer. I was sitting pretty at 10th wheel winding up my sprint when it all happened.
Not the start I was hoping for this year.

As you’ve heard by now Garrette has decided to leave Blue Flavor to pursue freelance work. It’s been great working with him on various projects and he is one of the funniest people I’ve met in this or any industry. Not to mention he’s the only one in the family that would drink dirty vodka martinis with me.
Later G. We’ll have to grab a few rounds at SXSW. Oh, and for old times sake: Suck It!
